The Lynx Smart BMS NG is a dedicated Battery Management System for Victron Lithium NG (not to be confused with the Lynx Smart BMS 500A, which is for Victron Smart Lithium batteries) batteries available with a nominal voltage of 12.8V, 25.6V and 51.2V in various capacities. This is the safest of the mainstream lithium battery types. The maximum number of batteries in one system is 50, which results in a maximum energy storage of 192kWh in a 12V system and up to 384kWh in a 24V and 48V system. The maximum energy storage capacity can be multiplied by paralleling multiple Lynx Smart BMSs, which also ensures redundancy should one battery bank fail.
Multiple BMS-es are available for our Lithium NG series of batteries, and the Lynx Smart BMS NG is the most feature-rich and complete option. Its main features are:
- Built-in 500A or 1000A contactor used as a fallback safety mechanism and also suitable as a remote controllable main system switch.
- Battery monitor, indicating state of charge percentage and more data.
- Pre-alarm signal: provides a warning before the system shuts down due to a low cell voltage.
- Bluetooth for use with our VictronConnect App, for setup, monitoring and diagnostic.
- Local and remote monitoring using a Victron GX device, for example, the Cerbo GX and our VRM portal.
- M10 busbar – The Lynx Smart BMS NG integrates seamlessly into our Lynx Distributor system and can be connected to all Lynx M10 products.
The VE.Bus BMS NG is an all-in-one Battery Management System (BMS) for Victron Lithium NG batteries (not compatible with Lithium Battery Smart batteries), designed for systems with Victron inverters or inverter/chargers using VE.Bus communication. It monitors and protects the batteries against over voltage and under voltage of any individual cell, and also over temperature or under temperature conditions.
With built-in Bluetooth, it connects directly to all lithium NG batteries in the system for central monitoring via VictronConnect. It also receives current and state of charge data directly from the batteries, so there’s no need for a separate SmartShunt.
The lithium NG batteries can be configured in series, parallel, or a combination of both, supporting 12V, 24V, and 48V systems. A maximum of 50 batteries can be used in 12V or 24V banks, and 25 batteries in 48V banks, enabling up to 192 kWh (12V), 384 kWh (24V), and 128 kWh (48V) of storage. Multiple Lynx Smart BMS units can be paralleled to expand capacity and ensure redundancy.

- Bluetooth Smart: The VE.Bus BMS NG includes Bluetooth Smart for wireless configuration, monitoring, and firmware updates via the VictronConnect App. Instant Readout shows key data such as SoC, battery temperature, warnings, and alarms directly in the device list, without needing to connect.
- Load disconnect output: Controls the remote on/off input of a BatteryProtect, inverter, DC-DC converter, or other loads with remote on/off functionality to prevent deep discharge.
- Charge disconnect output: Controls the remote on/off port of chargers such as the Smart IP43 Charger, a Cyrix-Li-Charge relay, a Cyrix-Li-ct Battery Combiner, or a BatteryProtect, to prevent overvoltage.
- Pre-alarm output: Provides early warning for low battery voltage before disconnecting loads. Can drive a relay, LED, or buzzer.
- Remote on/off control: Allows external control of both load and charge disconnect outputs.
- LED indicators: Includes a blue LED for Bluetooth status and a red LED for warnings and errors.
The SmallBMS NG is an all-in-one Battery Management System (BMS) designed for Victron Lithium NG batteries (not compatible with Lithium Battery Smart batteries). It monitors and protects the batteries by managing charge and load disconnects and providing pre-alarms for low battery voltage.
The SmallBMS NG is a straightforward and cost-effective alternative to the VE.Bus BMS NG for applications that don’t require integration with Victron inverter/chargers. It provides essential lithium battery protection without the added complexity of VE.Bus communication and is therefore not suitable for use with VE.Bus inverter/chargers such as MultiPlus and Quattro.
